Lady Danger by MAC

This Girl is on Fire!

For those of you interested in Lady Danger by MAC, I highly suggest that you go to a MAC counter and try it on first. The reason I suggest this is due to the fact that it is described nearly everywhere on the internet as a reddish-orange. In my case, this could not be further from the truth. On me, Lady Danger is without a doubt orange with no hints of red.
(Right after applied with Cherry lipliner feathered inward).

The first time I tried it on, I was horrified to see bold, nearly neon, orange lips staring back at me in the mirror. I immediately put it down, and did not think much of it since. This past week, I tried it on again from the suggestion of one of the MAC counter ladies as I told her I was looking for a bright color and I really loved Ruby Woo. After swiping it on my lips, I was again repulsed by the color staring back at me. She suggested putting Cherry lipliner under it would really help to tone it down. From there, she began to apply the Cherry lipliner over the Lady Danger.

(Attempting to redo on my own).

I would again look in the mirror, however, this time I was looking at a beautifully feathered ombre effect from the two colors. The ombre effect of Cherry on the outer corners feathered inward toward Lady Danger created almost a fiery effect that would have probably been gorgeous on Katness in one of her fire dresses.

Halloween 2012

Hi Everyone! This is Dallas (the sister). I thought I would post some of our pictures from Halloween. Let us know what you think  :)

I {far left} was broken doll. I used black liner to create the dark "cracks" on my face, our friend was Wednesday Adams {from the Adam's Family}, and Kasandra was going for the Marilyn Monroe dia de las muertos {day of the dead} look that is was popular with the wallets you see in Spencer and Hot Topic.

What did you guys do for Halloween?

Alice Eve ~50's Bombshell Inspired Hair Tutorial

Hello everyone!

I have another vintage inspired hair tutorial for you. After watching Sanni's (missmai27 on youtube) makeup/hair tutorial on Alice Eve inspired by the Tattler photo shoot. I was so inspired by her video that I decided to make one of my own.

I absolutely love Sanni's makeup tutorials! She has done some fantastic looks like: Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, tons of 60s inspired looks, and so many others. I highly recommend that you take a look at her channel if you already haven't :)

I am VERY awkward in the video. I ended up filming two, and this is the first one. I think I accidentally deleted the second which came out much better, sorry! Eventually I will get it down, practice makes perfect right?!

Here is a link to the inspirational Alice Eve Tattler photo shoot

On a side note, I have been steering away from my vintage look for a bit and have been doing a glam rock makeup/hair look the past few weeks...just feeling like I need a change for a bit. Would anyone be interested in those videos?

What have You got to Say for Yourself?

Alright ladies (and any gentlemen) me and my sister have enjoyed making our first tutorials, and though we have some ideas of our own, do you have any suggestions?

Feel free to recommend vintage (me/sis) or non-vintage tutorials (sis).

I know that I want to do...

Pan Am girls (we will probably both do these),

maybe Mad Men

Gwen Stefani (Cool Video - blonde), and various others.

Also, if you haven't already checked out our tutorials, here are the links. Oh, and please leave any comments/suggestions :)

On a side note, a wonderful blogger who does the most AMAZING Betty Draper hair is Pia Storm over at  Storms Magasin ... swoon!

I left her a comment asking how she did it, and she replied with "Just pin curls, pin curls, pin curls - just like Betty :)"

...Yes! below is Pia's hair!

Modern Beehive (Video Tutorial)

Here is another hair tutorial - A modern 60s beehive that my sister has been wearing.
Please note that is is *inspired* after the 60s beehive, but is in no way meant to be a tutorial for a 60s beehive.

We decided to start making tutorials as I have been wanting to for awhile now. My lovely boyfriend got me a camera for my birthday which records pretty well, but all the "mediums/loops" I have to run the video through to get it uploaded is really leaving the video quality crummy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

...so stay tuned for more  :)
